HTC Incredible S available for Rs. 28,900 in India.

HTC has launched its latest smartphone Incredible S in India for Rs.28,900. This is Rs.2,000 more than the pre-order price as we had earlier reportedThe Incredible S runs on Android 2.2 Froyo, which is upgradable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread once it is made available by HTC. HTC has put its own layer of the refined Sense UI, which improves the overall experience. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with 1GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 205 GPU, 768MB of RAM and 1.1GB of ROM, this phone sports a larger 4.0-inch 480x800 Super LCD display and an 8MP camera with auto-focus, dual LED flash and 720p video recording. It supports native playback of DivX/Xvid video formats. Along with GPS, the phone supports HSDPA, Wi-Fi, DLNA and Bluetooth. At the current price, it is the most expensive HTC phone available in India, so how well it will go down with the Indian consumers is something we will find out in the next few days.

Motorola EX115

A little known phone from Motorola, the EX115 is the one to get if you want a phone with a QWERTY keypad in this price range. For starters, it is a dual SIM phone, has a large 2.3-inch QVGA display and a 3megapixel camera. It has a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It's a Motorola phone, so you can expect great build and call quality. When compared with the likes of the Samsung Chat 322 and the Nokia X2-01, the EX115 comes out on top as it has a better display than the Chat 322 and a better camera than both of them.

Sony Ericsson Cedar

Now that 3G has finally arrived on our shores, it makes sense to invest in a 3G enabled handset if you are someone who browses a lot on their phone. And it's not just your run-of-the-mill UMTS support that phones in this price range usually come with. The Cedar supports HSDPA up to speeds of 7.2Mbps and HSUPA up to speed of 2Mbps, which is pretty darn good for a phone in this price range. The phone also comes with a good built-in web browser and you can even connect it to your computer and use it as a 3G modem. The phone also has a nice compact form-factor with an attractive design and solid build, a good display, comfortable keypad and a 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to music with your own headphones.

Samsung Champ C3303

If you thought it would be impossible to get a decent touchscreen phone in this price range then you were wrong. The Samsung Champ is a cute and trendy touchscreen phones that comes with a lot of features for its price. For starters, it has a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resistive touchscreen display. It also has a 1.3 megapixel VGA resolution camera with video recording, microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo loudspeakers and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with all your social networking applications built-in. The phone is available in four color options: black, white, pink and wine red.

Samsung Wave 533

looking for a QWERTY phone in this price range? Look no further than the Wave 533. It has by far the biggest QWERTY keypad you can find under 10k. It also 3.2-inch, 320 x 400 resolution touchscreen and the phone runs on Samsung's bada OS. It also packs in 3 megapixel camera Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0 and A- GPS.

LG Optimus One

 We keep recommending this phone and that's only because we think it's awesome. It offers a super combination of price and performance which makes it great value for money. It has a 3.2-inch QVGA display, 3G HSPA, Bluetooth, W-Fi, A-GPS, 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, VGA video recording, DivX/Xvid playback and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo with Gingerbread update arriving later. It's slightly above Rs. 10,000 but we think it is well worth the stretch.

Spice MI-310


Thanks to Indian companies like Spice, prices of Android smartphones have come down a lot and now we finally have some good Android phones under Rs. 10,000. One such phone is the Spice MI-310. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and comes with all the bells and whistles that one would expect in a much more expensive smartphone. It has a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 2 megapixel camera and an optical trackpad. All this for just Rs. 7,399. LG Optimus One - Rs. 10,299
